Makes: 16 truffles

A sweet treat with your hot drink of choice always makes it that bit better. We know just what you need and it’s these super simple and delicious Earl Grey truffles, using our favourite recipe. Who said you have to compromise on quality and quantity, with the excellence of this recipe you can make 16 scrumptious truffles! Plus, with the range of Hisense products to make your life a piece of cake, you’ll be wanting to keep making these bite sized goodies over and over again.

Ingredients

220g vegan dark chocolate
150 ml canned coconut milk
2 teabags Earl Grey tea
1 strip of orange peel
dark cocoa powder, chopped hazelnuts and biscuit crumbs

Method

Begin by pouring the 150 ml of coconut milk into a saucepan, followed by the 2 teabags and 1 strip of orange peel.

Heat until it reaches a boil and then remove from the heat. With the incredible HAS949BSC Vented Induction Hob reaching a boil has never been easier. The HAS949BSC utilises Rapid Boil which gives that extra boost of heat. You don’t need to worry about anything spilling over though, since once this mode has been activated for 5 minutes it retunes back to a low simmer for you!

Allow the liquid to infuse for around 5-7 minutes. After that you can drain it and discard the orange peel and the teabags.

Place the liquid back into the saucepan and bring back to a boil. The Pause and Add setting of the HAS949BSC is also a top tech feature that makes it super simple to make our favourite truffles. This setting allows you to stop using the hob and reduces the power for 10 minutes and then effortlessly pick off where you left off.  Perfect for whilst you strain the mixture and then need to bring it back to the boil after!

Once you have it boiling simply pour over the chocolate drops.

Let this sit for around 1 minute and mix until the chocolaty mixture is smooth. The HAS949BSC’s Soft Melt mode is perfect to use here, since it ensures the chocolate melts evenly and doesn’t burn, which we definitely do not want.

Cover up and place in the refrigerator for 45 minutes to become harder and easier to shape into the iconic truffle shape. The RQ758N4SWSE is a great choice since it comes with top tech such as Metal-tech Cooling, which maintains even temperatures across the fridge. It also has a Touch Panel which allows you to be creative in what temperature and setting you’d like to set depending on what you need.

After the 45 minutes is up, you can scoop out the mixture with a spoon or ice cream scooper to get evenly sized parts.

You can use your hands to shape the scoops into round balls. This recipe makes around 16 however you can be as creative as you like and make the balls bigger or smaller depending on your preference.

To finish off roll each truffle in the cocoa powder, chopped hazelnuts or biscuit crumbs. Most of your favourite toppings will work for this, so use what suits you!

Store in the fridge as these are best served chilled. The RQ758N4SWSE also comes in clutch here since quality features like Total No Frost mean that no ice crystals will get in the way of you enjoying your hard work.
