1. Introduction

Hisense is committed to ensuring the accessibility of its products and services in accordance with Directive (EU) 2019/882 on the accessibility requirements for products and services, as well as applicable national legislation. Our goal is to provide equal user experience for all individuals, regardless of their physical, sensory, or cognitive abilities.

2. Legal Compliance and Compliance Level

This accessibility statement has been prepared in accordance with Directive (EU) 2019/882. A professional compliance analysis and an accessibility assessment of all key digital products and services have been conducted.

Our services are partially compliant with the required accessibility standard Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA and European Standard EN 301 549.

We have implemented a range of accessibility features across our platforms.

Visual Accessibility

  • Screen Reader Compatibility: Content is structured using semantic HTML and ARIA attributes to ensure compatibility with screen readers.

  • Alternative Text: Non-decorative images include descriptive alternative text to convey meaning to users relying on assistive technologies.

Navigation and Interaction

  • Keyboard Navigation: our websites are partially accessible via keyboard.

  • Responsive Design: Interfaces are designed to adapt to various screen sizes and orientations, ensuring usability across desktop and mobile devices.

Assistive Technology Support

  • Speech Recognition: Input fields and controls are labeled to support voice navigation tools.

  • ARIA Landmarks: Key content areas are marked with ARIA landmarks to improve navigation for screen reader users.

  • Form Accessibility: form fields are associated with labels or ARIA attributes to ensure their purpose is communicated clearly.

We are continuously working on improving accessibility through regular reviews.

3. Exceptions and Alternative Solutions

Despite our efforts to ensure full accessibility, certain functionalities are still undergoing adjustments.  These include:

1. Keyboard Navigation

  • Several components, including the navigation menu, carousel, cookie banner, and focus indicators, present challenges for users navigating via keyboard alone.

  • we’re working on adding Skip Links functionality.

  • We are actively working to improve keyboard operability and ensure all interactive elements are accessible without a mouse.

2. Visual Contrast

  • Some links, buttons, and headings have contrast ratios that are close to the minimum accessibility threshold due to constraints in the Hisense corporate design.

  • To address this, we are developing a high-contrast theme option to enhance readability for users with visual impairments.

  • Additionally, we’re establishing a visual content creation standard that will ensure embedded text is readable against background colors

3. Screen Reader Compatibility

  • Issues have been identified with ARIA implementation on dropdown menus, product detail pages, and the store finder page.

  • Additionally, some headings are not properly labeled, which may hinder screen reader interpretation and result in a suboptimal user experience.

4. Alternative Text for Images

  • A number of images currently lack descriptive alternative text.

  • We are in the process of updating our content to ensure all meaningful images include appropriate alt text.

5. Zoom and Magnification (400%)

  • Certain functionalities, such as the checkout process, profile updates, and newsletter subscription, do not fully support 400% zoom.

  • We are reviewing these areas to ensure content remains accessible and usable at high magnification levels.

6. Form Accessibility

  • Several forms, including Login, Update Profile, and Cart, have missing labels and lack proper use of autocomplete attributes.

  • Enhancements are underway to ensure all form fields are clearly labeled and support assistive technologies.

We’re planning the remediation of the above-mentioned issues to be implemented over the course of 2025.

As alternative solutions, we provide customized support services for users requiring additional assistance.
