Job Title: Category Manager Cooking and Dish Department

 

GTM Reporting to: Head of GTM

 

 

About the Role:

 

The position of the Category Manager is required to develop and implement the long-term business strategies for Cooking & Dish categories, investigating and developing, as appropriate, all options for route to market, to achieve sales and profit targets. Focusing on best marketing channels, sales strategies, and pricing models to ensure the products ongoing success.

 

Main Responsibilities: 

 

  • Lead GTM strategy for Cook & Dish – responsible for bringing and successful launch of products to market.
  • Lead for Channel Management, internal Category meetings internally and externally, GFK Analysis & direction.
  • Lead for Category Hisense Website product pages and Category exposure.
  • Analyse Consumer trends. Collect and review Cooking & Dish sales data and trends.
  • Manage support to the sales channel through sales promotions, marketing initiatives and promoter activity/training.
  • Campaign creation and planning - Work with Trade Marketing on any Cooking & Dish campaigns and direct implementation and audits across Accounts.
  • Track and Report back to the business Retailer and Competitor activity and positioning with the Cooking & Dish categories.
  • Support sales team within Range Review Meetings with senior decision makers taking a lead on Cooking & Dish categories.
  • Report current pricing and product trend information and work with company management to formulate new strategies.
  • Lead for business performance reviews and strategic plans – including product development / product selection for the UK market.
  • To be a lead in HQ reports and presentations and to respond to any HQ requests in a timely manner.
  • Work with the Business Intelligence lead to formulate reports – e.g. stock and sales / Wiser / GFK etc.
  • Focus on driving Hisense Brand Awareness across Accounts aligned to Marketing strategies.
  • Work with Social Media team to ensure plan is aligned to category focus
  • Other ad-hoc tasks assigned by Line Manager.

 

Requirements

 

  • Educated to a Degree level
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience within MDA sales or buying role managing National Accounts / Brands / Categories.
  • Previous experience within the Cooking & Dish categories would be advantageous.
  • Able to demonstrate good attention to detail and level of accuracy
  • Able to demonstrate excellent numeracy and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Ability to maintain relationships at all levels within the business and our customer base
  • Excellent PC skills with good working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook
  • Proven ability to exceed sales and profitability targets
  • Full UK Driving Licence required.
  • Office based – Leeds minimum 2 days a week.
