Happy Yorkshire day!
01.08.22
At Hisense, we are proud to be based in Yorkshire, our UK office is based here in Leeds, so we encourage everyone reading this to celebrate with us!
The 1st of August officially marks 47 years of celebrating Yorkshire. It was first introduced by The Yorkshire riding society in Beverley via a protest regarding the local government reforms. Every year since, the biggest county in the UK is celebrated through several ways. Each city/town in Yorkshire often hosts events such as parades, food, and drink festivals and more.
For those who can’t access all the fun in Yorkshire, the perfect way to celebrate at home is by making Yorkshire puddings – they’re diverse and the ideal way to celebrate. They can be served at dinner, as a snack, or even as a pudding!
Poppycooks has offered a short tutorial on Tiktok showing the best way to make your Yorkshire pudding with our Hisense oven.
Ingredients:
- -4 eggs
- -200ml flour
- -200ml milk
- -Oil of your choice (vegetable, sunflower, goose fat etc)
Method:
Preheat the oven to 210 degrees C, 6 minutes is enough time for our Hisense oven to preheat. Stick your oil into a muffin tray and pop into the oven to heat whilst you make your batter.
Whisk your eggs into a bowl, before adding your milk and then flour. Whisk together until it creates a batter/double cream texture.
Once the oil has heated up, take this out of the oven and fill the rest of the tray with the batter for 20 minutes.
Stay weary, the royal society of chemistry has said that any ‘Yorkshire pudding’ smaller than 4 inches cannot be classified as one*, so if you really want to celebrate, ensure they are of an appropriate height! Luckily, our even bake function ensures that the hot air of the oven circulates freely, ensuring everything is cooked to perfection.
Serve your Yorkshire puds alongside sausage and mash, in a roast, or even with just maple syrup!
