What is the FIFA Club World Cup?
The inaugural version of the tournament took place in 2000 in Brazil, under the name the FIFA Club World Championship, since 2023 the tournament has moved to a quadrennial competition starting in 2025.
This year’s competition follows a revamped format, featuring 32 teams from six international confederations. The tournament format first draws teams into eight groups of four for a round-robin group stage, similar to the structure of international football. The top two teams from each group then advance to the knockout stage, culminating in the final on July 13th.
This year’s English representatives are Manchester City F.C. and Chelsea F.C. , while heavyweight teams such as Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus, Bayern Munich, Inter Miami and Inter Milan will battle it out to be crowned the best club side right now.
